Items to Bring

The following is a list of suggested items that you may want to bring when you move into the residence halls. If you are concerned about traveling light, there are stores near campus where you can purchase necessities. Ala Moana Shopping Center; Macy’s; Ross Dress for Less; Target; Walmart; drugstores and supermarkets are about a 15-20 minute drive away.

Bedding

  • Comforter or blanket (if you tend to get cold)
  • Extra-long twin-bed sheets
  • Pillows and pillowcases
  • Washable mattress pad (if desired)

Toiletries/Bath

  • Personal grooming items
  • Soap
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shower caddy
  • Shower shoes
  • Toilet paper
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Towels (bath, hand and washcloth)

Desk and Electronics

  • Alarm clock
  • Desk or standing oscillating fan
  • Desk organizer and supplies
  • Small desk lamp
  • Surge protector

Laundry

  • Detergent
  • Fabric softener/dryer sheets
  • Laundry basket

Closet and Storage

  • Closet organizers
  • Hangers
  • Storage containers

Apartment Residents

Since you have a kitchen and bathroom in your apartment you will need the following:

  • Cookware
  • Dinnerware
  • Shower curtain
  • Toilet paper

Note: You may want to wait on these items until you find out what your roommates may already have, or will bring.

First Aid Kit/Emergency Supplies
