Aloha Chaminade Campus Community,
A tsunami warning has been issued for the state of HI. For the safety and well-being of everyone, we are authorizing an early release for all employees effective immediately. Please wrap up any urgent tasks and head home as soon as possible.
You are encouraged to keep yourself updated regarding further developments.
· If you live, work, play, or transit a low lying coastal area, be familiar with the location of the tsunami evacuation zone. The latest tsunami evacuation maps can be found on the State of Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency page.
· Always follow the advice of local emergency and law enforcement authorities. In the event of a tsunami, those living in an evacuation zone should leave their homes immediately.
· If you must evacuate your home, leave in an orderly and calm manner and proceed to the closest tsunami refuge center. A list of tsunami refuge centers is available online.
· If you are at the beach or near the ocean, and you feel the earth shake, move immediately inland to higher ground. Stay away from rivers and streams that lead to the ocean due to the potential for strong tsunami waves and currents.

Aloha Chaminade community:
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for all Hawaiian islands, from Wednesday evening through Friday morning. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, high winds, and potential flooding could impact our area.
It is important to remain vigilant and prepare as this weather heads our way. You can monitor the weather conditions via the National Weather Service website. We encourage all campus community members to have emergency preparedness plans in place in case of power outages, floods, etc. If you commute to campus, please allow extra time for travel.
All members of the Chaminade community are urged to sign up for campus emergency alert text notifications. See instructions on the Chaminade SharePoint portal for how to opt in on your mobile phone.
