Information Technology and Services at Chaminade University provides a number of services to the Chaminade community and is organized into five areas to help provide those services.
Client Services
- Staffs the IT help desk (phone, email, and drop in support)
- Supports all the public lab and classroom computers and audio-visual (AV) equipment
- Manages and procures institutionally owned computers
- Maintains checkout equipment for use by members of the Chaminade community
- Provides AV support for on-campus events
Emerging Learning Technology
- Supports Chaminade’s online learning platform (Canvas)
- Coordinates online end of course evaluations
- Manages video storage platform (Ensemble Video)
- Administers Chaminade’s video conferencing solution (Zoom)
- Assists faculty with online course creation
- Handles media creation and conversion requests (after clearance from the Library for copyright issues)
- Provides 3D printing services
Network and Data Services
- Designs and supports Chaminade’s wired and wireless networks
- Provides internet connectivity
- Installs and supports server infrastructure for campus hosted systems
- Maintains backups of all campus systems to remote site (Nevada)
- Manages Chaminade’s telephone system
- Supports network, server, and telephone services for St. Louis School
- Handles network support requests for the Marianist residences
Application Services
- Manages the technical aspects of Chaminade’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Colleague, including the administrative interface, WebAdvisor (student self-service), and the Portal
- Provides navigation training for Colleague
- Supports the ERP reporting environment (Business Objects/Crystal Reports)
- Manages the document management system (ImageNow)
- Maintains the technical infrastructure of Chaminade’s web presence
- Handles custom development of data integration between outside services and Colleague
- Provides limited project management for designated projects
- Creates custom workflow approval solutions for various business processes
- Develops custom web forms and solutions when outside options are not available
The Dean’s Office
- Provides business process analysis when evaluating new technical solutions to meet business needs
- Coordinates partnerships within the AMU as well as with other outside entities
- Manages the IT&S budget and personnel
- Reviews privacy and security policies as well as technical requirements for any outside partner requesting data from a Chaminade system
- Acts as the primary IT security officer for the institution
- Acts as Chaminade’s ADA technical consultant
