The Christian Studies minor stresses a robust and reflective exploration of Christian scripture and faith in the context of a multicultural, interfaith dialogue. Along the way, students are challenged to consider problems facing the world through the lenses of Christian ethics, morality and teachings.


Christian Studies (Minor)

Upon completion of the Christian Studies minor, students will be able to:

  1. Utilize the key concepts of Catholic theology in a critical reflection on integral human experience.
  2. Engage in respectful dialogue on religious meaning in our globalized, multicultural society.
  3. Employ Christian moral imagination in moral reasoning and decision making that affirms and/or challenges secular and cultural values.

  • Choose one 100-Level Philosophy Course

  • RE 211 The Bible as Controversy
Minor Requirements
  • RE 301 Jesus, God and Man
  • RE 314 Hebrew Scriptures
  • RE 315 New Testament

Choose one:

  • RE 324 Sexuality in Christian Life
  • RE 326 Christian Prayer
  • RE 425 Religion, Science and the Modern Prospect

Choose one:

  • Upper division Religious Studies in Christian Studies (with consultation with program advisor)
