The Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction Leadership (MACIL) prepares you to design meaningful, equitable learning experiences, use data to improve instruction, and lead with intention. Grounded in practical, evidence-based strategies, you’ll build the skills to elevate teaching, coach peers, and support diverse learners—graduating ready to lead with integrity across classrooms, school teams, and district initiatives.

The MACIL program fits your schedule and life responsibilities. Take classes online while faculty mentors guide you through a curriculum that connects theory to practice and prepares you to design learning experiences that empower students, teachers, and communities. You’ll be able to apply what you learn immediately in your classroom, school, or district.

Program Details

Upon completion of the M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership, students will be able to:

  1. Evaluate, design, and implement effective curricula and instructional strategies grounded in research and reflective practice.
  2. Analyze and interpret educational data to guide equitable and evidence-based decision-making.
  3. Lead and advocate for diverse learners through inclusive, differentiated, and equitable practices.
  4. Collaborate and innovate to build professional capacity and achieve meaningful instructional impact.
  5. Integrate culturally sustaining and place-based pedagogies that embody the Marianist values of community, service, and education for the whole person.

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S., or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution*

K-6 Structured Literacy Certificate

The Certificate in K–6 Structured Literacy is a 15-credit program for educators seeking to strengthen their expertise in teaching reading and writing. Grounded in the science of reading, the program focuses on literacy theory, assessment, and evidence-based instructional strategies for immediate classroom application.

Upon completion and passing the KPEERI exam, you’ll earn a graduate certificate, with a 15-credit pathway into the MACIL program for those who wish to continue.

You also have the opportunity to earn your MACIL and K–6 Structured Literacy Certificate concurrently.
