Below are the requirements for our first-year applicants. Note that requirements are different for nursing majors. If you are a transfer student, please view the requirements here.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
- High school transcript(s) reflecting grades 9-12. Senior year (Grade 12) can show courses in progress.
- 2.50 or above Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
- GPA requirement for nursing majors is different; see Nursing Admissions Requirements tab.
International applicants require additional documents for admission found here.
Requirements for homeschooled students or those who obtained a high school diploma equivalent (GED), please view here.
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
- Submit Application & $50.00 application fee (waivers accepted)
- Transcript(s) sent directly to the Office of Admissions at [email protected] or mailed to Office of Admissions – 3140 Waialae Ave Honolulu, HI 96816
- High School Transcript: Unofficial copies can be sent in for admissions purposes. An official, final high school transcript showing the completion of senior year and verification of graduation, will be required if admitted into the university.
- College Transcript: For high school students enrolled in dual enrollment/early college programs. Qualified coursework can be evaluated for college credit.
- Optional:
- Test scores (ACT and/or SAT)*
- Letter(s) of recommendation
- Personal Essay
- Resume
Applicants will be notified if additional documentation may be required at the request of the Office of Admissions.

- Fall Term: Priority: December 1 Final: April 15
- Spring Term: Priority: October 1 Final: December 1

Notification Deadline
We will notify applicants of their admission decision on a rolling basis.
Tuition Deposit Deadline
- Fall Term: Admitted students are encourage to deposit by May 1
- Spring Term: Admitted students are encourage to deposit by December 22
NURSING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- High school transcript(s) reflecting grades 9-12. Senior year (Grade 12) can show courses in-progress.
- Earned a grade of “C” or better in the following high school courses— Specific to Nursing majors
- Algebra II
- Biology
- Chemistry
- 2.75 Cumulative GPA or above –> GPA requirement is specific to Nursing majors

Applications for the traditional BSN are only accepted for the fall term.
Application Deadlines
Fall: Priority: December 1 Final: April 15
Spring: N/A Traditional nursing applications are not available for spring terms.
Decision notification date
Rolling, until spaces are filled. If spaces are full, traditional nursing apps will be put on a waitlist.
Tuition deposit deadline
Students offered admission to the BSN are encouraged to submit their $200 enrollment deposit as soon as they receive their admissions decision, in order to confirm their space in the cohort.
