Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Mr. Philip Dela Cruz graduated from the Kamehameha Schools, a private college preparatory school exclusive to Native Hawaiian students. Following his freshman year, Mr. Dela Cruz participated in the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. During his sophomore year, Mr. Dela Cruz served as a missionary in Boise, Idaho, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. Upon his return to Chaminade University, he continued to excel academically, and currently holds a GPA of 3.8. He also participated in 2 summer programs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the other at Baylor College of Medicine.
In the spring of 2014, Mr. Dela Cruz was accepted into the Early Selection Program at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Upon completing his bachelor’s of science degree in Biochemistry at Chaminade University, Mr. Dela Cruz will matriculate into the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences as a member of the graduating class of 2020.
