Kailee Marin was born and raised in Whidbey Island, Washington. With high honors, she received her associate’s degree from Skagit Valley College three months prior to graduating from South Whidbey High School in 2013. In the Fall of 2013, she transferred to Chaminade University of Honolulu as a recipient of the Regent Scholarship award.
During her time at Chaminade, Kailee was inducted into the Delta Epsilon lota Academic Honor Society. In the Fall of 2014, she attended the 12th Annual U.C. Davis Pre-Medical and Pre-Health National Conference in Davis, California. During the summer of her junior year, she had the opportunity to intern at Tripler Army Medical Center for a Psychiatric research project. Kailee was also an active member of the Scrubs Pre-Health Club and served as President during her senior year. Aside from her academics, Kailee volunteered at the Leahi Hospital, Hawaiian Humane Society, and Sea Life Park. She also worked as a student assistant for the Office of Health Professions Advising and Undergraduate Research.
In Spring of 2016, Kailee graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and a minor in Psychology.
Kailee will begin her studies at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in August 2016. She credits Chaminade’s staff and faculty for providing her the opportunities and funding resources to attend conferences and interviews. She acknowledges her professors for equipping her the knowledge and study habits that will prepare her for medical school. After earning her degree in osteopathic medicine, Kailee aspires to establish her own practice.
