Jessica Vork

Jessica Vork OHPAUR

Jessica Vork spent most of her life in small-town Cloquet, Minnesota.  She graduated from Cloquet High School in 2009 and attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities during her first year in college.   As a sophomore, Jessica transferred to Chaminade University of Honolulu in Spring of 2010.

A gifted-scholar athlete, Jessica was a member of Chaminade’s soccer team and voted as team captain by the players and coaches during her first season.  She was also fortunate to receive the team’s Most Inspirational Player for the 2010-2011 season and NCAA Division II Pacific West Academic All-Conference Athlete. Jessica graduated from Chaminade in May 2013, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology.

During her time at Chaminade, Jessica had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark where she spent a semester immersed in the language and culture of Denmark.  She was awarded the Danish Institute for Study Abroad Intercultural Leadership Award in Fall 2012.  Jessica was also an active member of the Scrubs Pre-Health Club where she served as President and launched a volunteer partnership with Leahi Hospital, a residential facility for the elderly.  She was also involved in the Biology, Tahitian, and Hawaiian Clubs.

Following her graduation from Chaminade, Jessica earned a Master of Science degree in  Bioethics from Union Graduate College, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and The Center for Bioethics.  Jessica will begin her studies at A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in July of 2016.  Coming from a small town, she credits the Chaminade community for enhancing her cultural awareness to the rich and beautiful diversity of the world.  Additionally, playing collegiate soccer reinforced the importance of teamwork and communication in reaching a common goal.  After earning her degree in osteopathic medicine, Jessica aspires to return to northern Minnesota and serve her hometown community.  She also hopes to practice alongside her father, a nurse practitioner, as part of the Doctor’s Without Borders program.
