Brianna is an artist, educator, and cultural leader whose work bridges art, history, and surf studies. She holds a BA in Art and an MFA in Contemporary Art: Art and Social Practice, and has been teaching drawing, art history, and surf studies for the past almost four years as an adjunct professor at Chaminade University of Honolulu. A lifelong artist, she has been drawing since age five and continues to explore creativity through film directing, experimental music, and online content production.
With a background shaped by constant migration, a multicultural family, and being multiracial, she brings a global perspective to her teaching and creative practice. In 2017, she founded Sea Together, a pioneering women’s surf platform that challenged mainstream surf media by centering everyday surfers, diverse voices, and underrepresented perspectives. For her contributions to women’s surfing, she was honored with an award from the World Surf League.
She believes in the intersection of art, art history, and everyday life such as surfing as essential to understanding how the world changes and evolves, and she encourages students and communities alike to push the boundaries of creativity, culture, art, history and belonging.
