Biography
Dr. Maurice Andrea, LMFT, is an Assistant Professor and the Clinic Director of the on-campus Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic at Chaminade University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he oversees the operation and clinical training functions of the university’s MFT clinic, ensuring that services provided to the community are compassionate, accessible, and culturally grounded. His clinical and academic work focuses on couples therapy and the development of effective, client-centered therapeutic practice.
As Clinic Director, Dr. Andrea views the clinic as both a community resource and a training environment for future therapists. He provides close supervision and ongoing support to interns as they refine their clinical skills, professional judgment, and therapeutic presence. Through this mentorship, he helps students integrate theory with practice while maintaining strong ethical and relational standards of care.
Dr. Andrea is dedicated to fostering culturally responsive, relationship-focused services and to preparing emerging clinicians who are thoughtful, competent, and responsive to the diverse needs of individuals, couples, and families.
