Transfer students are an integral part of our community. As a transfer-friendly institution, we welcome applicants from all colleges and universities who have earned prior credit. We accept transfer applications year round. Transfer students may apply for entry to either the fall or spring terms.
Application Requirements
We look at each of our applicants as a whole person. To better understand who you are and the strengths you might bring to the Chaminade community, we look beyond transcripts, and consider personal qualities through recommendations, resumes, activities lists and your writings.

General Transfer Admissions
- Submit your completed Application for Admission
- Submit your official college transcript(s)*
- Submit your high school transcripts if you feel it helps (optional)*
- Submit a brief written statement describing your interest in pursuing your degree at Chaminade University of Honolulu, and any related extracurricular activities that have prepared you for your educational goals. This statement must be a minimum of 250 words.
- Submit a resume if it has been 5 or more years since you have been enrolled in college level classes
Competitive applicants have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in college coursework.

Nursing Transfer Admissions
Chaminade University offers transfer admission to both our traditional four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as our two-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Accelerated Track. Students who have already completed a General Education requirement, as well as certain Nursing program prerequisite courses are encouraged to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Accelerated Track.
Traditional Four-Year Nursing Checklist

- PTE – Minimum score of 53
- Duolingo – minimum score of 95

FALL TERM
Application Deadline: January 15
Applications for the traditional four-year BSN are only accepted for the Fall term. We will not begin reviewing BSN applications until January 15. Nursing applications received after January 15 will be still be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
Admissions decision notification date Beginning February 6
Nursing application decisions will be released beginning February 6 the for those applicants who submitted a complete application by January 15. Nursing applications received after January 15 will still be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. If an applicant meets the requirements for admission to the Chaminade BSN program, but no space is available, the student will be placed on our Fall Nursing waitlist, and notified if a space becomes available.
Tuition Deposit Deadline:
- Students offered admission to the BSN are encouraged to submit their $150 enrollment deposit as soon as they receive their admissions decision, in order to confirm their space in the cohort.
- If you were offered admission to the Fall BSN cohort, we will not hold your space in the program after May 1. Beginning May 2, if there is still space available in the Fall cohort, waitlisted BSN applicants will begin receiving offers of admission to the Fall cohort.
SPRING TERM
N/A – Traditional nursing applications are not open for spring terms.
Accelerated Nursing Admission – BSN Accelerated Nursing Track

- 1 Step TB skin test or Blood test or if a History of TB Chest Xray + screening form.
- 3 shot COVID-19 vaccine series (initial + bivalent booster)
FALL TERM
Application Deadline: January 15 (priority)
- We will not begin reviewing accelerated BSN applications until January 15. Nursing applications received after January 15 will be still be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.

Health Compliance Packet Deadline: April 15
Accelerated Nursing applicants should refer to their student portal for information on their Health Compliance packet.

Students offered admission to the accelerated BSN are encouraged to submit their $150 enrollment deposit as soon as they receive their admissions decision, in order to confirm their space in the cohort.
If you were offered admission to the Fall accelerated BSN cohort, we will not hold your space in the program after May 1. Beginning May 2, if there is still space available in the Fall cohort, waitlisted BSN applicants will begin receiving offers of admission to the Fall cohort.
