Hawaiʻi is one of the most unique environmental classrooms in the world—and one of the places where the challenges facing our planet are impossible to ignore. From fragile coral reefs and native forests to climate change and biodiversity loss, complex environmental issues need people who can see the bigger picture and help create meaningful solutions.

Chaminade’s Environmental Studies major takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding our environment and the challenges we face. You’ll explore environmental science, sustainability, policy and law, economics, ethics, and culture, learning to approach environmental issues from multiple perspectives.

With small classes, personalized faculty support, and hands-on opportunities to learn throughout Hawaiʻi’s diverse ecosystems, you’ll connect what you study to the world around you while developing the critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make a difference.
