Chaminade’s Economics minor gives you the tools to analyze economic issues, interpret data and turn evidence into informed decisions. Explore economic theory, global economics, economic policy and data-driven analysis while learning to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. Through real-world applications, you’ll develop the critical-thinking and analytical skills to evaluate economic challenges and identify meaningful solutions.

Upon completion of the Economics minor, students will be able to:

  1. Describe key economic concepts and models to domestic and global systems.
  2. Communicate economic ideas effectively to diverse audiences and purposes.
  3. Evaluate economic statements, outcomes, and policies using evidence-based reasoning.
  4. Create evidence-based economic analyses that apply economic tools and empirical data to address real-world issues.

Pre-Minor Requirements

  • MA 103 College Algebra
  • EC 201 Principles of Macroeconomics
  • EC 202 Principles of Microeconomics

Minor Requirements

  • 12 semester hours of upper-division courses in Economics courses
