Whether you’re pursuing business, entrepreneurship, finance, or another field, an Accounting minor gives you the financial foundation and analytical skills to understand how organizations operate.

Through coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, and business fundamentals, you’ll learn how to interpret financial information, evaluate business performance, and use data to solve real-world problems. You’ll develop practical accounting skills that complement your major and prepare you to contribute with confidence in today’s business environment.

Upon completion of the Accounting minor, students will be able to:

  1. Read and analyze financial statements and understand the basic accounting principles inherent in their preparation.
  2. Utilize accounting data to prepare managerial accounting reports and communicate the results.
  3. Recognize the unique technical terminology of accounting and its applicability to the business world.
