Steps:
If you’re eligible for accommodations, Kokua Ike will prepare and send an agreement for you to review.
If you are diagnosed with a qualifying disability, it will fulfill the documentation requirement for accommodations.
Assessment Center
- Provides free comprehensive psychological assessments to students
- Testing may take 4-6 hours (this can be broken up into multiple sessions ex: 4 one hour sessions)
- Final assessment reports will include test results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations

- Include your name, contact information, reason for appointment, and availability for testing session(s)
- Hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
ADA Parking
Students with accessible parking requirements may request a reserved parking space
- The request must include a copy of the requestor’s Blue Card
- A current ADA Parking Permit is required to use the space.
ADA parking stalls are located in the lot adjacent to the Mystical Rose Oratory.

Honolulu Community Action Program – Na Lima Hana:

Housing & Basic Needs
On-campus emergency housing may be available within the residence halls and is considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability and approval from the Director of Residence Life & Housing.

Students may submit an application for a grant once they have exhausted all other resources
Eligibility requirements (must meet all)
1. Currently enrolled, full-time Chaminade students (undergraduate, graduate, online)
2. Immediate and unexpected financial hardship that has a direct impact on student’s academic success at CUH
3. Resources must have been considered either insufficient, unavailable, or not available in a timely manner
4. Applicant must be able to provide appropriate documentation to verify circumstances for the funding request
a. Any supporting documents (bills, etc.) must be in the student’s name
Any funding they receive does not need to be paid back
1. One award will be made to any one student during all combined enrollments at CUH
2. Awards will be up to $1000
Eligible expenses that may be covered (this list does not cover all eligible expenses)
1. Medications and other costs related to emergency medical care
2. Books and other essential academic expenses
3. Safety needs
a. Includes the needs of victims of domestic violence
4. Replacement of essential personal belongings or temporary housing needs, due to fire, theft, or natural disaster
5. Travel costs related to death or illness in immediate family
6. Overdue essential utility bills reaching a turn-off notice
7. Homelessness or sudden loss of housing
8. Food insecurity
9. Loss of childcare
10. Assistance with rent or utilities due to an emergency situation
Expenses that are not covered (this list does not cover all ineligible expenses)
1. Tuition payment, fees, health insurance, study abroad costs, meal plan, residence hall costs
2. Non-essential utilities, household, or furniture costs not related to damage or theft
3. Parking citations or library fines
4. Costs for entertainment, recreation, non-emergency travel or other non-essential expenses
5. Legal fees, penalties, jail bonds
6. Other anticipated expenses
A section 8 housing choice voucher that helps low income families, seniors, and disabled folks pay rent for private housing. It is provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and managed by your local public housing agency (PHA)
