The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is a direct-entry, four-year lock-step degree that requires all students to maintain full-time status. Our values-based approach incorporates strong community partnerships and individualized mentoring. With experienced faculty, a robust support network, and an innovative curriculum, we prepare you for the diverse and ever-evolving healthcare sector—providing you with the experiences needed to make a positive difference in your patients’ lives.

Clinical courses are an integral part of the curriculum and mandatory for all students. Our partners require health compliance including being fully vaccinated (with boosters) before starting clinicals. At this time, there are no options for completing the nursing program without this compliance.

Upon completion of the undergraduate B.S. program in Nursing, students will be able to:
- Integrate nursing science with the best evidence and knowledge from other disciplines to guide nursing practice and clinical decision-making and enhance effective, ethical, and equitable healthcare delivery.
- Manage population health issues by engaging in effective partnerships to demonstrate advocacy strategies, equitable health policy, and disaster preparedness while considering the socioeconomic impact of healthcare delivery.
- Contribute to the safety and quality improvement of person-centered care considering the cultural context of the individual, family, and community.
- Ethically utilize information systems, patient care technologies, inter-professional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to optimize client safety and improve outcomes.
- Contribute to healthcare system quality by utilizing performance metrics to reduce cost, improve outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
- Demonstrate nursing practice based on ethical and legal principles, professional nursing standards, and leadership concepts while developing a professional identity.

The Baccalaureate degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Chaminade University of Honolulu are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The School of Nursing and Health Professions has been granted full accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) from October 2025 through December 2030.
