Biography
Chris Patrinos is an Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at Chaminade University and also serves as technical director of theatre at Punahou School. When creating, theatre students are tasked with examining the external world around them as well as reflect on the internal thoughts and emotions that drive them. Chris strives to prepare students for the life ahead of them and theatre is his vehicle. He thrives on creating opportunity so that students may acquire a set of skills that, while theatre driven, provide a framework for success in all aspects of life.
Prior to joining Chaminade University Chris achieved great success as Theatre Manager at the Leeward Theatre; Graduate Assistant and Theatre Electrician at the University of Hawaii at Manoa; Technical Director at the Richard T Mamiya Theatre; and Director of Audio Visual for the Hawaii Convention Center. Chris is an award-winning director, designer, and performer. His theatre credits include stage management, technical direction, and production design for Jim Nabors, Carol Burnett, Tau Dance Theatre, Honolulu Dance Theatre, the Ron Bright Foundation, the Hawaii Arts Alliance, The University of Hawaiʻi, Punahou School, Iolani School, Saint Louis School, Sacred Hearts Academy, Castle Performing Arts Center, and Farrington High School. His production management credits include national touring productions of River Dance, Stomp, Spirit of the Dance, Shaolin Warriors, Lion King, Slava Snow Show, Miss Saigon, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and A Prairie Home Companion. He would not be where he is today without the support of his family and friends.
