Biography
Pam Estell, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Management, Human Resources, and Organizational Behavior at Chaminade University of Honolulu. She received her Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. As a STEM designated program, the CIS degree draws on the broad expertise held by partnering faculty in business, information sciences, and communication to aid in developing integrative advances in the most complex sociotechnical problems in business and society. Pam’s research centers broadly on human resources and organizational behavior and explores the interconnectedness of human behavior in organizations, organizational communication, and information communication technologies. Specifically, she enjoys learning more about how workplace technologies drive employee engagement, productivity, and job satisfaction and facilitate coordinated actions that have both positive and negative consequences on organizational performance. Her Ph.D. utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation modeling to test and validate a model elucidating how enterprise social media (ESM) influences employee voicing behaviors and organizational outcomes. Her research has been presented at the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences (HICSS), the Academy of Management (AOM), and has been published in journals such as Internet Research. She also serves as an ad-hoc peer referee for publications such as Internet Research, Transactions on Social Computing, HICSS, and AOM.
