Roni Hewett was born and raised in a small farming town in Juliaetta, Idaho. She graduated from Clarkson High School in 2011 and entered Chaminade University of Honolulu as a freshman.
An exceptional student-athlete, Roni was a vital member of both the women’s soccer and tennis team. In 2013 and 2015, she was named Most Inspirational Player for the tennis team. She was also fortunate to receive the Women’s Soccer and Tennis Scholarship. As a senior, she was selected to attend the 13th Annual U.C. Davis Pre-Medical and Pre-Health National Conference in Davis, California, the largest pre-medical and pre-health professions gathering at an undergraduate institution.
Roni was also engaged outside of the campus. Through the Scrubs Pre-Health Club, she served as a volunteer at Leahi Hospital, a residential facility for the elderly. Additionally, she was involved in numerous sports programs geared toward helping children with physical disabilities.
In the Fall of 2015, Roni graduated from Chaminade University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Integrative and Organismal Biology, and a minor in Psychology. Roni was accepted to A.T. Still University’s Physical Therapy Degree Program in Arizona and will begin her studies in 2016. She is grateful for Chaminade’s rigorous science program that challenged her thinking and helped her to become more inquisitive and informed about the world around her. Upon receiving her degree in physical therapy, she hopes to further her education in neurology and pediatrics and have her own pediatric therapy center.
