Chaminade University’s Hawaii Guarantee

Matching resident tuition and 4-year graduation pathway.

Chaminade University’s Hawaii Guarantee provides local high school seniors entering as freshmen the same tuition rate as University of Hawaii at Manoa’s annual resident undergraduate tuition AND an achievable pathway to graduate in four years.

Eligibility

  • 2025 Hawaii high school graduate
  • A first-time college student or incoming freshman status
  • Must be bachelor degree-seeking and full-time student (12-18 credits/semester)
  • All majors excluding Nursing
  • No GPA requirement

How does it work?

  • Hawaii Guarantee tuition match is based on the published UH Manoa resident undergraduate tuition cost for the Fall Term of each year starting in 2025
  • Hawaii Guarantee is renewable for three years
  • Students must apply to Chaminade University
  • Students must submit their FAFSA

Yes. The Hawaii Guarantee will match University of Hawaii at Manoa’s resident tuition. Should that rate increase, Chaminade will continue to match that rate for four years.

Students are encouraged to meet with a Financial Aid counselor for any federal aid specific questions.

Yes, this opportunity guarantees that you will never pay more than the published University of Hawaii at Manoa resident undergraduate tuition cost but you could pay less.

To be eligible, all new students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if they are eligible for other financing opportunities like grants, work-study and loans by April 1, 2025.

We encourage all of our students to apply for scholarships.

Students are eligible to compete for Chaminade’s signature scholarships. If awarded a signature scholarships, the student’s price match guarantee will be removed.

The VA will not pay more than the annual cap for the fiscal year as it relates to your benefit award type, amount of months, and  your benefit level determines the amount of funding you will receive.

Example: Chap 33 benefit at the 100% rate for 36 months will have full tuition covered for the fiscal year not to exceed the annual cap. However Chap 33 benefit at the 70% for 18 months will only have 70% of the annual cap available to them for the fiscal year-a-for a set 18 months.

The Hawaii Guarantee is for incoming Fall 2025 students. If you defer, your award package will not count and your aid will be recalculated in the year that you decided to attend. 

The graduation guarantee is a contractual agreement between you and Chaminade University. If you follow the steps outlined and are not able to graduate in four years, Chaminade will cover the rest.

The Hawaii Guarantee will be in place for four years. If you take longer and do not complete the graduation guarantee, the price will go up to the published Chaminade University tuition rate for that year.

Exploring all of your options while at Chaminade University is part of your educational journey. If you begin your coursework and decide that you would like to switch your major*, we encourage you to work with your academic advisor and put together your academic plan to stay on track to graduate in four years.

*The only major that is not eligible for the Hawai’i Guarantee is Nursing.

The Hawaii Guarantee covers tuition annually and includes both the fall and spring terms.

All incoming first-time/first-year students who are residents of Hawaii are eligible for the Hawaii Guarantee.

We welcome transfer students to Chaminade University. Although you are not eligible for the Hawaii Guarantee program, our general education waiver applies to students who have earned an Associate’s degree or have completed the Interstate Passport. This allows our transfer students to jump right into the curriculum and finish in approximately two years. Transfer students also eligible for merit aid, need-based aid, scholarship, grants and other financial aid opportunities.

The Hawai’i Guarantee is for Hawai’i high school graduates, but there are many financial aid opportunities for you including merit aid, need-based aid, scholarships and grants. Please visit our Financial Aid website for more information.

Students must be continuously enrolled for consecutive semesters to receive the Hawai’i Guarantee. If a student takes a break in enrollment without an official leave of absence, the student can return to Chaminade but will need to pay Chaminade’s posted tuition rate.

Because non-degree seeking students pay per course and not a flat tuition amount, this does not apply.

We encourage all of our students to study away and when you work with your academic advisor and plan ahead, you will be able to take courses that apply to degree completion and finish in four years. 

This opportunity is for day undergraduate students entering in the fall of 2025. Current students are not eligible.
