Biography
Dr. Denise Dugan, Assistant Professor of Special Education and Elementary Education has worked in education since 2007. Dr. Dugan taught in the K-12 setting in English/ Language Arts with most of that spent working with 7th and 8th Graders. She began teaching in regular education and then quickly moved during her first year to Exceptional Education, working in inclusive and fully self-contained settings. Dr. Dugan held a certification in Grades 6-12 English, Grades 6-12 Earth and Space Science, and currently holds a Gifted Endorsement, and has developed and taught in Gifted Programs at select schools in the Florida Department of Education. At Chaminade, Dr. Dugan interests are in teaching both Special Education and Regular Education courses, as well as conducting research for learning environments for both children and adults with neurodiversity.
