  • Neurodevelopmental conditions

Types of assessments offered:

  • Comprehensive psychological evaluations

Frequently Asked Questions

A comprehensive psychological evaluation typically involves one full testing day (approximately 6 hours).

Depending on the referral concerns and scope of the evaluation, testing may extend to two or more days.

Younger children can be expected to be seen for shorter testing blocks (2 hours) over three or more days.

Partial or more focused evaluations generally require only one day (several hours) of direct contact.

Currently, the Chaminade Assessment Center accepts HMSA insurance plans (including HMSA QUEST). If you do not have either of those plans, please indicate as such in your email to [email protected], and we’ll see what can be arranged. See Fees and Insurance section below.

Preparation should include:

  • Ensure your child gets a full night of sleep
  • Provide a nutritious breakfast
  • Bring glasses, hearing aids, or other necessary supports
  • Avoid framing the appointment as a “test they need to pass.” You might say: “You’ll be meeting with someone who wants to learn how your brain works so they can understand how to help.”

Parents are welcome to remain in the office during testing sessions. In some cases, portions of the evaluation may be conducted one-on-one with the child to ensure standardized testing procedures and accurate results. The psychologist will explain when and why this is necessary.

Final reports are typically completed 2–3 weeks after all testing sessions are finished.

A feedback session is then scheduled to:

  • Review results in detail
  • Answer questions
  • Discuss diagnostic impressions
  • Provide personalized recommendations

You will receive a written or digital report following this meeting.

Schedule Your Appointment

Our center is open by appointment only; we do not accept walk-ins.

To schedule an appointment, please email us at [email protected].

Before your first visit, you’ll complete a brief intake screener so that we can better understand your needs and tailor the evaluation process:

  • Adult Psychological Assessment Intake Form
  • Child & Adolescent Psychological Assessment Intake Form

Completing these forms in advance helps ensure that your evaluation is focused, efficient, and responsive to your unique situation.

Fees and Insurance

We strive to make our services accessible and affordable. Here’s what to expect regarding fees and insurance:

  • Chaminade Students: No charge for referred and actively enrolled students
  • Non-Chaminade Clients: One-time $75 intake fee (payable by credit card at your first appointment)
  • QUEST Patients: Intake fee waived
  • Insurance: We work directly with your insurance provider for coverage. Currently, we are only taking HMSA and HMSA-QUEST, although other insurances might be accepted based on staff availability.
  • Financial Hardship: Payment options are available—please discuss with your intake specialist
