Born and raised on Oahu, Ms. Lyndsey Helgeson graduated from Lanakila Baptist High School. Lyndsey entered Chaminade University as a freshman and has earned many honors and awards including being the recipient of the Regents Scholarship every year. Lyndsey was also inducted into the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society and was a member of the Biology and Scrubs Pre-Health Club.
While at Chaminade, Lyndsey worked as a Biology Laboratory Assistant and Peer-Led Team Learning Leader for General Chemistry. In 2013, she was selected to attend the 11th Annual UC-Davis Pre-Medical and Pre-Health Professions National Conference. In the summer of 2014, Lyndsey participated in Adventures in Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Lyndsey volunteered at the Hawaiian Humane Society and helped with off-site adoptions at the Ewa Beach Petco Pet Store. She recently began working as a kennel technician at the Kailua Animal Clinic.
After graduating from Chaminade in May 2015, Lyndsey will begin her studies at Western University College of Veterinary Medicine. She credits Chaminade for providing a wide range of opportunities for her to develop her networking skills and obtain hands-on experience working with diverse groups of people and animals. After earning her degree in Veterinary Medicine, Lyndsey hopes to return to the west side of Oahu to open up her own animal clinic and provide an additional outlet of the Hawaiian Humane Society’s feral cat program.
