Chaminade University plans to host Spring Commencement in-person on campus with two ceremonies on Saturday, May 8.
As of March 29, the ceremony will be held with graduates and two of their guests (who will be seated together). Following continued guidance for health and safety protocols, face coverings and social distancing will be required at the event.
Wristbands and Parking Passes
Graduates must pick up nontransferable wristbands and parking passes from Chaminade’s Business Office before Commencement (details here). Graduates are responsible for distributing these items to their guests. A maximum of two guests are allowed to attend, per graduate.
Each nontransferable wristband is a ticket to attend Commencement. Each guest must be wearing their wristband upon arrival onto campus. Those without wristbands will not be allowed on campus. Extra/replacement wristbands will not be available.
Parking passes must be clearly displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard before arriving to campus. Vehicles without a parking pass will not be allowed on campus.
Please see the Commencement Schedule page for detailed information.
Only graduates who have indicated they are walking in the commencement ceremony will receive these items. If you have questions, email email@example.com.
Congratulating Your Graduate
Prior to Commencement, graduates and guests should designate an area to meet after the ceremony. The commencement area will be closed following the ceremony.
To ensure the health and wellbeing of everyone in attendance, graduates and guests will not be allowed to gather in crowds following commencement. Graduates and guests are asked to be off campus 45 minutes after the ceremony has ended. There will not be a designated area to lei students after the ceremony given current health and safety protocols.
As a reminder, only guests with wristbands are allowed on campus. No other guests will be allowed on campus to greet or give lei to the graduates. Please plan to meet with other guests off-campus.
No balloons are allowed at commencement this year. Please refrain from bringing posters or other items that block the views of other guests.
