Biography
Dr. Chrystie Naeole joined Chaminade in 2012 from the Native Hawaiian Student Services Program in the University of Hawaii Office of Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity. She joined Chaminade to work on the 2010-2015 $4.2M NIH BRIC grant that built research and academic enrichment programs in NSM. Dr. Naeole divides her time between efforts for the Office of Sponsored Programs and her faculty role as a diversity and equity specialist in NSM. She is one of 16 NIH Extramural Associates through the NIH BRAD grant awarded to Chaminade for 2015-2020. This Biomedical Research and Development program is focused on the development of regulatory capacity for grant seeking and grant management at small universities. At Chaminade, she is a co-PI on the NIH BRAD grant as well as NSF AISL and S-STEM grants to Chaminade. She is a STEM academic navigator on the Ho‘oulu Scholarship grant for Kamehameha Schools and the HHMI Inclusive Excellence Program.
