What do I do for ADA Accommodations?
Chaminade University of Honolulu offers accommodations for all actively enrolled students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and the ADA Amendments Act (2008).
Students are responsible for contacting Kokua Ike: Center for Student Learning to schedule an appointment. Verification of their disability will be requested through appropriate documentation and once received it will take up to approximately 2–3 weeks to review them. Appropriate paperwork will be completed by the student before notification will be sent out to their instructors. Accommodation paperwork will not be automatically sent out to instructors each semester, as the student is responsible to notify Kokua Ike via email at [email protected] each semester if changes or notifications are needed.
Where can I park during orientation?
Chaminade students and ‘ohana (family) are allowed to park in stalls marked “CUH” on campus or in the parking structure. Do not park in stalls marked “SLS” or any blue reserved stalls. Violators will be towed at their own expense. If you are planning to park on-campus during the semester, parking permits are available for purchase at the Business Office, located in the lobby of Clarence T.C. Ching Hall. For more information, contact the Business Office at (808) 735-4756.
When do I get my Chaminade ID Card (CID)?
ID photos may be taken over the summer and during new student orientation in the Client Services Office, located on the street level of the Sullivan Family Library (orientation staff will be available to direct you). Students who take their photo over the summer can pick up their ID during orientation check-in.
Where can my family and guests stay during orientation?
We receive many requests for hotel accommodation recommendations for families coming to Oahu for campus visits or orientation. We cannot recommend any specific hotel. However, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has a comprehensive list indexed by the type of facility and other characteristics. There are many good hotels close to Chaminade in Waikiki. On the GoHawaii website, find the “Vacation Directory” sidebar and click on the “Accommodations” tab.
