Western Region Engaged Campus Award – 2017

Engaged Campus Award

Chaminade was honored to be selected for this award, in recognition of the University’s commitment to the public good. The Engaged Campus Award places emphasis on an institution-wide focus on service through student learning, mission-centered engagement, and meaningful campus and community partnerships.

E Pluribus Unum Prize – 2011

Migration Policy Institute (MPI)

Project SHINE received the prestigious E Pluribus Unum Prize for its work in promoting immigrant Integration. This award recognizes the contributions of all SHINE partners (including Chaminade University, KCC and UH Manoa) in ensuring that both immigrants and the receiving communities adapt to each other and work together to build stronger communities and define the future of America.

Environmental Community Hero – 2009

Department of Environmental Services

Chaminade was honored for its participation in the Adopt-A-Stream program.

Partnership in Education Award – 2008

Hawaii State Board of Education and Department of Education

Chaminade was recognized for its student participation in a Service-Learning Umbrella Program, created to benefit the university’s five main community partners: Palolo Housing, Head Start, as well as Pālolo Elementary, Jarrett Middle and Kaimuki High schools.

Commendation by City and County of Honolulu – 2008

City Council Commendation

The City and County of Honolulu presented Chaminade with a commendation at Honolulu Hale.

Special Commendation at Hawaiʻi State Legislature – 2008

Legislature Commendation

At the Hawaii State Capitol, the legislature recognized Chaminade’s service-learning program for its work with Palolo communities and its Presidential Award.

The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

CUH Presidential Award

The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll recognizes colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative and effective community service and service-learning programs. The Honor Roll’s Presidential Award is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. We received this prestigious award in 2008.

The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll – 2007

This federal recognition is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Chaminade University of Honolulu was inducted into the Honor Roll in 2007.
