Denise has been a nurse for more than 25 years. She graduated with a BSN from Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio where she was born and raised. She received a Master’s degree in management and education from University of Phoenix. She has worked in various areas of nursing including medical-surgical, oncology (teens and adults), special care nursery, and ultimately specializing in perinatal nursing for the past 20 years. She came to Hawaii as a traveling nurse and then met and married her husband here. She has three children. She has had the wonderful opportunity of being the first nurse coordinator in the beginning stages and implementation of the Hawaii Cord Blood Program. She enjoys hanging out with her family, hiking, practicing yoga, running, and deep sea fishing.
