Biography

Dr. Bulent Terem has been at Chaminade since 1988. Previously he was employed by University of Hawai‘i as a Research Associate and then Professor of Chemistry. From 1979 to 1983 he was as Associate Professor (Docent) of Chemistry at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. His post-doctoral work was at the University of London. He teaches Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at Chaminade, as well as the general education ‘Chemistry for the Concerned World Citizen’. His research interests are in Marine Natural Product Chemistry: Isolation, purification, and identification of potential pharmaceutical agents from marine sources. He directs the Biochemistry major and is the faculty advisor for all biochemistry majors.

B.S. at Robert College in Istanbul Turkey, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of East Anglia in Britain.
