The Ho’oulu Family of Scholarships seek to support highly talented Native Hawaiian students with financial need in cutting-edge majors. In addition to financial aid, this family of scholarships offers a suite of services and opportunities laser-focused on student success and launching graduates into successful careers and graduate school entry. The scholarship programs have a strong cultural component designed to increase the inclusion of Native Hawaiians in the STEM and business sectors that are critical to the future of the lāhui and the innovation economy in our state.
Ho’oulu Scholarships are jointly funded by Chaminade University and Kamehameha Schools. The program offers 100% tuition (>$100,000 over 4 years), opportunities for living allowances for rural and Neighbor Island students, specialized academic and life-coaching, cultural programming, exclusive professional tutoring and opportunities for subsidized professional certifications in high demand areas like Data Analytics to build your resume. Ho’oulu Scholars also have opportunities for fully-paid internships and conference attendance.
Ho’oulu students are successful: the current 166 Scholars we have 100% four-year graduation rates, 97% retention and Ho’oulu Scholars outperform their peers in achieving excellent grades and course pass rates. Ho’oulu is launching Hawaiian students into excellent post-graduate opportunities (medical school, pharmacy school, PhD research programs, the biotech industry and healthcare jobs) as well as into Forensic Sciences, environmental careers, entrepreneurship and exciting new careers in Data Analytics.

As a Native Hawaiian-serving institution, we are proud to offer scholarships to new first-year students of Native Hawaiian ancestry. The scholarship is a 50% tuition discount that is renewable annually up to four years of study provided the student remains in good academic standing and completes continuing eligibility requirements including 20 hours of community service each semester.
