Religious Scholarships

If you are a member of a parish in the Archdiocese of Honolulu, Guam or American Samoa, attend a Marianist- sponsored High School or a Catholic High School in Hawaii, Guam or Saipan, you may be eligible for one of the following Religious Scholarships. Although the scholarships are merit-based all applicants should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for need-based scholarships, grants, loans and College Work-Study. Candidates selected for one of the Religious Scholarships are required to complete 20 hours of community service each semester.

Academic Requirements Requirements

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • Test score requirements (SAT or ACT accepted):
    • SAT administered after March 2016 (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math): 1000
    • SAT administered prior to March 2016 (Critical Reading + Math): 920
    • Cumulative ACT: 19
  • You must be a first-year student who has never attended another college or university.

Eligibility and Other Details

Priority consideration will be given to applications received by May 1.

Please note, if the scholarship is not solely based on GPA, you must file a FAFSA to be considered. It is recommended that you file a FAFSA before March 1.

GPA calculations: You will receive confirmation of your scholarship with acceptance to Chaminade, and if the scholarship is based on a GPA, the amount will be based on your known high school GPA. The award amount will be finalized when Chaminade gets a record of your cumulative high school GPA upon graduation.

While attending Chaminade, your GPA may vary; however, you will continue to receive the same award amount.

These scholarships and grants apply to all U.S. Citizens and U.S. Nationals who are full-time undergraduate day program students. Students will receive the one best university-funded award for which they are eligible. Scholarship programs are reviewed yearly and are subject to change without notice.
