Chaminade University offers eligible new first-year and transfer students both merit and need-based institutional scholarships ranging from $3,000–$16,000 per year. Institutional scholarships are awarded based on the applicant’s academic profile.
First-year awards are based on the cumulative grade point average after the first term of the senior year in high school. Standardized test scores including the SAT or ACT are also considered in determining the award amount. Transfer applicants will be awarded based on the cumulative grade point average of one or more institutions they attended.
All admitted applicants will automatically be considered for one of three institutional scholarship awards including the Regents, Presidential and Leadership. The award amount will be based on merit and increased accordingly if need is established from the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA must be filed each year to qualify for the need-based portion of the scholarship award.
The scholarship will be offered each year if the enrolled student maintains a minimum grade point average of a 2.0. The award amount may change if the FAFSA determines a change in the level of financial need. Award notifications will be mailed following the offer of admission packet.
