Dr. Eurina Cha who is one of seven national scholarship award recipients “2018 NLN Foundation of Nursing Education Award” is a certified advanced public health nurse. She has an extensive clinical nursing background in Public/Community health, medical-surgical, acute inpatient rehab, long-term care, case management, and professional consultation for 25 years. Dr. Cha received a Ph.D. degree in Public Health, specialized in Community Health, at Walden University. Her expertise and scholarship extend to population-based nursing care, underserved minority health promotion, preventative care, and global nursing education. Recent projects have included community-based primary care in Hawaii (HRSA grant project). She has presented the outcomes at the local, national, and international level of conferences. She is also the lead faculty of Puʻukohola event that is the culturally-specific health promotion approach to Native Hawaiians on the island of Hawaii for the past two summers. She has been involved in various community services and leadership roles such as the STTI Gamma psi-at-large chapter as the school counselor, Overseas Korean Nurses Association (OKNA) as a Hawaii Chapter President, and a chair of Hawaii Korean Nurses Association (HKANA).
