Chaminade’s Early College Program seeks to provide access to college education for a diverse group of high school students. We believe it will enhance their ability to grow as civic minded individuals, ready to make impactful contributions to their communities and professions. Early college students at Chaminade engage in interaction with faculty and fellow students in small classes, have access to academic advising, tutoring services and other student support services on campus. Students can earn college credit and may also be eligible for high school credit as well.
Early college students are better prepared for full-time college entry, college life and expectations. Students also tend to exhibit higher grade point averages, retention rates and graduation rates.
Eligibility and Next Steps
Qualified high school juniors and seniors may apply for admission to Chaminade University as a part of the Early College Program. After admittance, students may take credit courses as part of an associate’s degree path or courses for credit that will be used towards a degree at a later time.
Discuss with your high school counselor which Chaminade courses you’d like to take.
Apply to the Early College Program at no fee. You need to submit a personal statement and a list of your extracurricular activities and/or honors. After you submit this information, you will be prompted by email to submit your high school transcript and a letter of recommendation. Once you’ve submitted all materials, your application is complete. Then, if admitted, you will be assigned a Chaminade student ID number and email.

“The Chaminade Early College program has greatly challenged and prepared me for the academic rigor of college that I would have not received in regular Kapa‘a High School classes. I am very grateful for this opportunity and for the ability to earn college credits while still in high school. Through this program, I have made fun, life-long memories with my classmates, which was another aspect of the program that I really liked. We have become very close since we all suffered through the program together. I enjoyed being surrounded by other like-minded, goal-driven, determined, and motivated peers who pushed me to keep going when things got tough. By having these experiences and being surrounded by these types of people, I believe it has set me up for success.”
