Welcoming Dr. Lynn M. Babington to Chaminade

On the 20th of January 2018, Chaminade University of Honolulu will inaugurate its tenth president, Dr. Lynn M. Babington. Celebrating the past, present and future through worship, reflection and celebration, the Inaugural Mass and Academic Installation ceremony for Dr. Babington ushers in a new era, honoring Chaminade’s rich Marianist, Catholic faith traditions and 62-year history of academic excellence.

Inspired by faith, innovation, leadership excellence and service, the inaugural event reflects Chaminade’s commitment to the pursuit of solutions where education isn’t just about learning, but about social justice, building community and preparing tomorrow’s leaders to create a more just and peaceful society. Dr. Babington’s initiatives aim to propel Chaminade forward and position it as a leader in Hawaii and beyond.

Dr. Babington was elected the tenth president of Chaminade University by its Board of Regents in December 2016. As the university’s second lay president, she succeeds Bro. Bernard Ploeger, S.M., when she took office on August 1, 2017.
